Welcome to Foam Free Lofts
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website (Website URL) and the spray foam removal services we provide. By accessing our website, requesting a quote, or hiring us for services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Scope of Services
Assured Home Improvements specialises in the removal of polyurethane spray foam insulation from residential and commercial properties. Our services are limited to the removal and disposal of the foam insulation as detailed in your specific quote.
Exclusions: Unless explicitly stated in writing, our services do not include structural repairs, re-roofing, electrical work, plumbing, or the installation of new insulation.
2. Optional Independent Surveyor Certification
For customers requiring official documentation for the purposes of property sale, letting, mortgages, or equity release, Assured Home Improvements offers an optional service to arrange an independent surveyor inspection upon completion of the spray foam removal.
- Independent Verification: To ensure compliance with mortgage lenders and equity release companies, the surveyor provided will be an independent, qualified third party (e.g., RICS certified).
- Additional Fees: This service is not included in the standard removal quote. It is subject to an additional, non-refundable fee which covers the cost of booking the surveyor and the provision of the final certification documents. The exact cost will be quoted to you prior to booking the surveyor.
- Scope of Certification: The surveyor’s role is strictly to assess that the spray foam has been adequately removed to industry standards and to assess the current condition of the roof timbers.
- Third-Party Decisions: While our removal process is designed to meet the rigorous standards required for property transactions and financing, Assured Home Improvements cannot guarantee the final decisions made by third-party banks, mortgage lenders, or equity release providers, as their lending criteria are entirely outside of our control.
3. Quotes, Estimates, and Unforeseen Circumstances
- Initial Estimates: If a quote is provided based on photographs or verbal descriptions you have supplied, this quote relies entirely on the accuracy and completeness of that information. If our team arrives or begins work and discovers the loft is not as described, or that the provided photos omitted certain areas or did not show the full extent of the spray foam coverage, we reserve the right to pause work immediately. We will then discuss and require agreement on a revised quote to cover the additional labor or scope of work before proceeding.
- Hidden Damage: Spray foam insulation often conceals pre-existing structural issues, such as moisture damage, rot, or compromised roof timbers. ASSURED HOME IMPROVEMENTS is not liable for any pre-existing damage discovered during or after the removal process. * Variations in Scope: If unforeseen issues arise (e.g., the foam is significantly thicker than anticipated, adhered to fragile substrates, or hazardous materials like asbestos are discovered), we reserve the right to pause work and provide a revised quote for the additional labor or specialized removal required.
4. Customer Responsibilities and Site Access
To ensure a safe and efficient removal process, the customer agrees to the following:
- Clear Access: The work area (e.g., loft, attic, crawlspace) must be cleared of all personal belongings, storage boxes, and debris prior to our arrival (unless we’ve spoke or arranged to do if the party can not)
- Utilities: The customer will provide reasonable access to electricity and water necessary to complete the work.
- Pets and Children: For health and safety reasons, children and pets must be kept away from the work area for the duration of the project.
5. Health, Safety, and Hazardous Materials
- Asbestos and Contaminants: If we suspect the presence of asbestos, toxic mold, or other hazardous materials not previously identified, work will cease immediately. The customer will be responsible for arranging independent testing and remediation before our services can resume.
- Dust and Mess: Spray foam removal is an inherently messy process. While we take extensive precautions (using drop cloths, negative air machines, and industrial vacuums) to protect your property, minor settling of dust in adjacent areas may occur and is not grounds for compensation.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Assured Home Improvements shall not be held liable for:
- Damage to ceiling plaster, plasterboard, or electrical cables that were embedded in or hidden by the spray foam.
- Structural failures resulting from pre-existing timber decay.
- Consequential, indirect, or incidental damages arising from the work performed.
7. Payment Terms
- Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of [20%] is required to secure your booking date.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance is due strictly upon completion of the work. We accept Bank Transfers, Credit Cards.
- Late Fees: Overdue payments may be subject to a late fee of £250 per week until the balance is settled.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
- Customers may cancel or reschedule a booking without penalty up to 4 days before the scheduled start time.
- Cancellations made within this period of the start time may result in the forfeiture of the deposit to cover lost time and scheduling.
